Today marks the 41st anniversary of the separatist declaration of the so-called pseudo-state in the illegally occupied territories. This declaration, which violates international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions, took place on November 15, 1983. As of now, no state has recognized this entity, with Turkey being the only exception.
In the free territories, events are being organized to denounce the existence of the pseudo-state. One such event, titled "Memories of Occupied Land," will begin at 7:00 PM in Nicosia. President Nikos Christodoulides will deliver the keynote address. The event, co-organized by the committee representing occupied municipalities and communities, will take place at the study center of Kykkos Monastery in Archangelos and will be broadcast live by RIK 2.
Additionally, demonstrations led by students and political parties are occurring today to protest the pseudo-state. In contrast, a military parade is being held in the illegally occupied territories to mark the anniversary of this declaration. Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz and members of the Azerbaijani Parliament are expected to participate in these events.
