Greece, Cyprus, and Jordan Strengthen Ties on Energy, Civil Protection and Connectivity

Greece, Cyprus, and Jordan have strengthened ties on energy, civil Protection and connectivity after signing three memoranda in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of Greece, President Nikos Christodoulides of Cyprus, and King Abdullah II of Jordan met in Nicosia yesterday to discuss regional cooperation and explore joint initiatives.

The 4th Cyprus-Greece-Jordan Summit focused on enhancing cooperation in civil protection, connectivity, and energy. Leaders also addressed the recent developments in the Middle East, particularly the ceasefire in Lebanon, and expressed hope for de-escalation in the region.

To solidify their commitment to trilateral cooperation, the foreign ministers of the three countries signed memoranda of understanding in the following areas:

  • Water Resources Management: A joint effort to address water scarcity and promote sustainable water use.
  • Education Collaboration: A partnership to foster educational exchange and cooperation between the three countries for the period of 2024-2027.
  • Economic Cooperation: A trilateral agreement between Enterprise Greece, Invest Cyprus, and the Jordan Investment Commission to boost economic ties and promote investment opportunities.

This summit marks another significant step in strengthening the trilateral cooperation between Greece, Cyprus, and Jordan, demonstrating their shared commitment to regional stability and prosperity.
