Police Officer Accused of Monstrous Acts

Athens, Greece - Greece is reeling from a horrific domestic violence case involving a police officer accused of unspeakable acts against his family. The 45-year-old suspect, a member of the prestigious Parliament guard, stands accused of sexually abusing four of his five children and forcing their mother, also a police officer, into incest.

This case raises serious questions about internal procedures within Greek law enforcement. Despite a history of violent behaviour documented in court records and disciplinary actions, the suspect continued to serve. His past includes incidents like assaulting a taxi driver, a teenager, and even another police officer.

The first domestic violence investigation began in 2024, leading to a recent conviction for threats and a suspended sentence. However, this did little to prevent the alleged abuse. Reports suggest the suspect even received psychological evaluations in the past yet remained on the force.

The suspect's mother, deeply shaken by the allegations, offered a heart-wrenching statement to a local TV station. "I gave birth to a monster," she said, "Today, for me, it's his funeral. I ask for forgiveness from the children."

Authorities are now gathering evidence and interviewing the children. This incident has sparked outrage and media scrutiny, demanding an overhaul of how law enforcement handles allegations against its officers.
