Mr Charles Forte said at the "Greece Talks" conference that the Peloponnese is also on the group's radar.

Rocco Forte Hotels, which was started almost 30 years ago by the Forte family and already has a strong footprint in Europe's luxury tourism market, plans to open its first 5-star hotel in Greece.

A first reveal of the group's future plans was given on Friday at the "Greece Talks" conference by the Development Director of Rocco Forte Hotels, Mr. Charles Forte.

He said that they are "very close" to signing a new venture in Athens, where he believes there is a lack of luxury hotels.

Apart from Athens, Rocco Forte has also put other regions on its radar throughout Greece, including the Peloponnese, particularly Porto Heli.

The business started in 1996 in Italy and to this day has its largest presence there.

Rocco Forte Hotels, with hotels in Italy, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Russia (with three more opening in Italy), was founded in 1996 by hotelier Sir Rocco Forte and his sister, Olga Polizzi.

As mentioned in the group profile, the Forte family has been dedicated to the hospitality industry for four generations.

Eleven flagship hotels, an internationally renowned spa resort, five unique residences and twenty private villas in the best addresses make up the group's real estate portfolio today, plus the new projects that have already been launched or will be launched soon.

Specifically, outside of Italy at this juncture, according to Forte family officials, the group's plan is focused on Europe, North America (Miami, New York and, Los Angeles), and the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Marrakesh.

Regarding the individual destinations, the chain's current movements are located in four new projects in Italy, specifically in Milan, Naples, Sardinia and Southern Italy.

Mr Forte also said that the chain is ranked third internationally in terms of the quality of its services, given that each hotel in the group maintains a distinct identity with elements from the destination its in, the use of local materials, etc.

On the other hand, the connection between the hotels under the Rocco Forte umbrella is achieved through a high level of service, while sustainability is now a key parameter in the group's operation.
