Athens, Greece—Three Greek restaurants have been named to La Liste’s prestigious annual ranking of the world’s top 1,000 restaurants.
The list, compiled through a rigorous six-stage evaluation process incorporating customer reviews and expert opinions, highlights culinary excellence worldwide.
Leading the Greek contingent is the two-Michelin-starred Delta Restaurant, located in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). Known for its innovative and artistic approach to cuisine, Delta achieved a score of 85/100.

Following closely behind is Spondi, helmed by chef Apostolos Trastelis, with a score of 83.5. Located in the Athenian neighbourhood of Pagkrati, Spondi has maintained its Michelin star since 2002, showcasing its commitment to refined dining.

Varoulko Seaside, led by chef Lefteris Lazarou, rounds out the Greek trio with an 80.5 score. Situated on the Piraeus waterfront, It is celebrated for its fresh seafood and traditional Greek flavours.

While none of the Greek restaurants reached the top scores of 99.5 achieved by nine international establishments, including Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl in Switzerland and Lung King Heen in Hong Kong, their inclusion in the top 1,000 is a testament to the vibrant and evolving Greek culinary scene. The recognition underscores the growing international appreciation for Greek gastronomy and its diverse offerings.
