The meeting Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had with Indian investors in London reportedly went more than well.

Mitsotakis and a government delegation met with Indian investors on the sidelines of his meeting with his British counterpart Keir Starmer in London, and according to Power Game, the prime minister was "excited" by what he heard.

The investors have shown "a keen interest in coming and investing" in Greece.

Power Game also reported that the Greek leader will visit India in February, which "will play a decisive role since he will have a series of contacts capable of causing an investment tsunami for our country."

The investors also asked questions regarding Greece's tax regime from investors preparing to leave Great Britain and immigrate for business to an EU member country.

Mitsotakis last visited the South Asian country in February this year.

His visit saw the countries reaffirm their commitment to deepen the New Delhi-EU strategic partnership and emphasise their commitment to multilateralism. The two countries also agreed on a speedy conclusion to the Migration and Mobility Partnership Agreement.

During Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Greece in 2023, the two countries had ensured the fruition of the objective of doubling bilateral trade by 2030.

Modi also welcomed Greece into the International Solar Alliance and upgraded the bilateral ties to the level of a "Strategic Partnership".

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

During their telephone conversation, the two leaders discussed the prospects for deepening bilateral relations, based on the strategic partnership adopted in a Joint Statement during Mr Modi’s official visit to Athens in August 2023, and the further strengthening of cooperation, particularly in the field of investment.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis informed the Prime Minister of India about Greece’s intention to open two more consulates in India, in Mumbai and Bangalore, in the near future.

Moreover, they discussed the cooperation between the two countries in the context of Greece’s tenure as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2025-2026 term.
