Paris, France – A new report by Accor has revealed that Greece is gaining popularity among European travellers for the upcoming year. The survey indicates a 16% increase in European travellers intending to visit Greece in 2025 compared to the previous year.

While Spain, Italy, and France remain the top three destinations, Greece has secured the fourth spot, reflecting a growing interest in the country’s rich history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture.

Key Trends for European Travel in 2025:

  • Increased Travel Budget: More than half of European travellers (53%) plan to spend more on travel in 2025.
  • Sustainable Travel: Climate change and sustainability are significant factors for 73% of travellers, with many planning to make eco-friendly choices.
  • Workstations on the Rise: The trend of combining work and leisure is expected to continue, with more Europeans planning international workstations.
  • Overtourism Concerns: Travelers are increasingly mindful of overtourism and seek alternative destinations and off-peak travel times.

As the travel industry continues to recover from the pandemic, Greece is well-positioned to attract a growing number of European visitors. By focusing on sustainable tourism practices and offering unique experiences, the country can further solidify its position as a top travel destination.
