A 19-year-old has been arrested for vandalizing Thessaloniki's newly inaugurated metro, specifically the Venizelos station. He appeared in court facing charges of damaging public property, but his trial has been postponed, and he has been released in the meantime.
Police reports indicate that the arrest took place early Sunday morning. The suspect, who masked his identity, was caught in the act of spray-painting on the station's walls and glass panels. Officers confiscated two spray paint cans found in his possession.
This marks the first incident of vandalism since the Thessaloniki metro was launched on November 30.
