Aegean Airlines is expanding its network with the addition of new international and domestic routes, starting in the early months of 2025. The airline announced new direct flights from Athens to Erbil, Iraq, and Baku, Azerbaijan, as part of its international expansion.
Beginning February 23, Aegean will operate flights from Athens to Erbil twice weekly, every Wednesday and Sunday. Additionally, starting April 14, 2025, flights to Baku will resume, with operations scheduled every Monday and Friday using Airbus 320neo aircraft.
Domestically, Aegean is enhancing its connectivity with new direct routes from Heraklion to Rhodes, Naxos, Corfu, and Kos. Furthermore, two new direct flights from Rhodes to both Chania and Santorini will be launched in June 2025.
Flights from Heraklion to Rhodes will commence in March 2025 and will operate daily. Routes from Heraklion to Kos will have three weekly flights, while Naxos and Corfu will each see two weekly flights.
The airline also announced increased connectivity from Rhodes to Chania and Santorini. Flights to Chania will be serviced by ATR 42-600 aircraft twice weekly, with plans to increase frequency during the peak tourist season. Meanwhile, flights to Santorini will occur every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
In addition, Thessaloniki will gain a direct connection to Syros starting June 2025, with flights scheduled thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Moreover, Aegean has bolstered its existing routes to Istanbul and Izmir, Turkey, and introduced new flights from Heraklion, Mykonos, Rhodes, and Santorini to Istanbul. Starting April 2025, Heraklion and Santorini will connect to Istanbul with two weekly flights, increasing to four during peak season. From June 2025, Mykonos and Rhodes will also have direct flights to Istanbul twice weekly.
The airline has also strengthened its presence in the Balkans and expanded services to Saudi Arabia and the UAE with direct flights from Athens to Abu Dhabi. Similarly, Aegean has increased services to prominent European destinations, including Berlin, Barcelona, Madrid, and Lisbon.
Upcoming new routes from Athens to Las Palmas and Heraklion to Metz, France, will be introduced in February and June 2025, respectively.
