ATHENS: 29-year-old Pakistani man arrested for trafficking fake documents

DIAS motorcycle unit officers arrested a 29-year-old man from Pakistan in northern Athens for forgery.

Police officers in the northern Athens neighbourhood of Agios Panteleimonas, following information regarding a person trafficking forged documents, located a Pakistani man on December 5 and called him in for questioning.

During the search, a laptop, two passports of dubious authenticity, two mobile phones, and 200 euros were found in his possession. He was taken to the Agios Panteleimonas Police Department and was remanded for pre-trial investigation.

In a subsequent search of homes, the following were also found and confiscated:

• equipment for preparing false documents (laminator, three printers, scanner, stationery, infrared light lens and passport cover fabric),
• six passports, the authenticity of which is being checked and
• the sum of 220 euros.

The arrested person was taken to the prosecutor, Parapolitika reported.
