Minor 4.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Crete, No Damage Reported

A 4.0-magnitude earthquake hit the Greek island of Crete on Wednesday morning, with no immediate reports of damage.

According to the Institute of Geodynamics at the National Observatory of Athens, the earthquake's epicenter was located 96 kilometers southeast of Zakros, along Crete's eastern coast, at a depth of 10.7 kilometers.

Greece is situated in one of the world's most seismically active regions, where earthquakes occur frequently, though significant damage and fatalities are uncommon.
