Melbourne, Australia – Former Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett was recently bestowed with the prestigious “Alexander the Great Award” for Lifetime Achievement by the Pan-Macedonian Association of Melbourne and Victoria. This honour recognizes his significant contributions to Hellenism and the Macedonian cause.

The award ceremony, held on December 11, marked the 30th anniversary of Kennett’s historic declaration in 1994, when he boldly stated, “Macedonia is Greek,” on the steps of Victoria’s Parliament House. This unwavering support for Macedonia’s Greek identity has solidified his legacy within the Australian Greek community.
Pan-Macedonian Association President Peter Stefanidis personally presented the award to Kennett, emphasizing the enduring impact of his declaration and its significance to Macedonian Hellenism. Kennett, in turn, expressed his continued support for the community’s evolving role and offered his assistance in achieving their future goals.
The association extended its gratitude to Kennett for accepting the award and for his unwavering dedication to the values of Hellenism.
