Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to visit Lebanon on December 13. The visit, aimed at supporting the reorganization of Lebanon’s armed forces, will also include meetings with Lebanese leaders and interactions with the Greek community in Lebanon.
The visit, originally planned for December 6, was delayed due to a malfunction in the government aircraft.
The main aim of Mitsotakis’s trip to Beirut, Lebanon’s capital, is to offer support for the reorganization of Lebanon’s armed forces with technical assistance from Athens. He is expected to meet with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri to reaffirm Greece’s commitment to aiding Lebanon in bolstering its state institutions, including the armed forces.
Mitsotakis is also scheduled to connect with the Greek community residing in Lebanon.
