Giannis Antetokounmpo wishes the NBA Cup could replicate the electrifying atmosphere of the EuroLeague Final Four. While he finds the on-court intensity similar, he notes the unique energy from the EuroLeague's passionate fan base. On Saturday, Giannis led the Milwaukee Bucks to victory over the Atlanta Hawks, securing their spot in the NBA Cup final against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
While he acknowledges that the energy on the court is intense, Giannis feels that the crowd experience is what truly sets the EuroLeague apart. "I wish the NBA could have that type of atmosphere here," he commented.
Saturday night saw Antetokounmpo in peak form, as he led the Milwaukee Bucks to a hard-fought 110-102 win over the Atlanta Hawks, punching their ticket to the NBA Cup final. After the nail-biting single-elimination game, Giannis shared his thoughts, drawing comparisons to the EuroLeague Final Four he attended last season.
"It was my first Final Four in Berlin, and let me tell you, the vibe there with fans from Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, Fenerbahce, and Real Madrid was something else," Giannis recalled with a grin. "I wish we had that kind of buzz in the NBA. The game's intensity is there; it's all or nothing. You have to bring your A-game, or you're out."
In front of the Las Vegas crowd, Giannis was on fire, nearly pulling off a triple-double with 32 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists. Up next, the Bucks will face the Oklahoma City Thunder for the NBA Cup championship on Tuesday at 8:30 PM ET.
