Renowned Cypriot singer Anna Vissi recently gave a candid interview where she shared her personal views on religion and the role of religious figures.

Reflecting on her upbringing, Vissi remarked, "When I was younger, I followed my parents' teachings about religion. However, I don't adhere to it simply because I was taught to."

She went on to criticize some religious representatives, citing recent controversial statements by a Metropolitan on sensitive topics like rape and abortion. "These individuals should face consequences. A person representing God should not receive payment. There isn't just one God; everyone has their own faith," Vissi stated emphatically.

In the same interview, Vissi addressed her own life choices, particularly regarding substance use. She admitted to disliking alcohol and drugs, though she expressed an understanding of the addictive nature of these substances.
