Severe Weather: Five-Kilometer Queue in Arachova - Drivers Stuck in Snow, Lacked Chains

A large traffic jam with a five-kilometer queue formed on Wednesday afternoon in Arachova, Greece, due to a sudden blizzard.

Drivers traveling on the road to Livadi and the ski resort did not have snow chains or snow socks, making it impossible for them to continue. They became stuck, subsequently causing problems for other drivers who had come prepared with the necessary equipment.

Traffic was temporarily halted to prevent more vehicles from becoming trapped. Snowplows are working to clear the road and free the immobilized cars.

Meanwhile, the Boeotia Regional Unit, specifically Deputy Regional Governor Giorgos Dasiotis, appealed to drivers visiting Arachova and other mountainous destinations to carry snow chains and use them even if they believe the snow is light.
