In addition, vehicles more than 3.5 tons in weight will be prohibited from several roads in Attica, regardless of whether they have snow chains.
From 10 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday, such vehicles will be banned from the Athens-Lamia in both directions, from the Kalyftaki interchange in Kifissia to the northern border of Attica at the 57th-kilometer mark.
They will also be prohibited on the Elefsina-Thiva road.
Similar orders for the use of snow chains have been issued for Central Greece (Viotia, Evia, Evrytania, Fthiotida, Fokida), Thessaly (Larissa, Magnesia, Trikala, Karditsa), Western Macedonia (Grevena, Kastoria, Kozani, Florina) and Central Macedonia (Halkidiki, Imathia, Pella the upper parts of Pieria).
