British-Azeri DJ Arrested at Party in Greece with Drugs and Cash

Izzat Javadova, known as DJ Mikaela Jav,

Izzat Javadova, a London-based cousin of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, was arrested during a raid on a luxury villa in Greece on December 30.

The 44-year-old, known as DJ Mikaela Jav, was performing at a party where Greek police allegedly found drugs—including cocaine, ecstasy, and crystal meth—along with over €43,000 ($45,000) in cash.

The raid took place in Kalyvia, a town near Athens, where Javadova, along with 12 others, was arrested. Police shared footage of the operation, showing pills and powders on tables and DJ equipment at the venue. Javadova, who denied organizing the event, stated it was a “tekno Berlin kinky party” and that the accusations were an attack on the LGBTQ community.

Despite her denial, reports suggest the party was lavish and drug-fueled, with guests claiming invitations were circulated via social media and personal connections. Three off-duty police officers who were providing security for the event were also arrested, though they have not been charged yet.

Javadova, who holds a British passport, is the daughter of a late Azerbaijani oligarch and was previously involved in a high-profile money-laundering scandal. She has faced legal scrutiny before for her involvement in the so-called “Azerbaijani laundromat” case, a £2.1 billion money-laundering scheme.

The investigation is ongoing, and Javadova faces charges of aggravated drug trafficking.
