The search for a missing 23-year-old skier at the Seli ski resort in Imathia, Greece, ended with relief on Tuesday as he was found safe and well.

The skier, who had been missing since Monday afternoon, was located by firefighters in a remote shelter in the “Prionia” area. Although unharmed, he was transported to a hospital for precautionary checks.

The young man, from Kilkis, was reportedly skiing alone on various slopes when he lost his way. After he failed to return, his friends alerted authorities around 6:30 PM on Monday, initiating a search and rescue operation. Reports indicate the skier sought refuge in the shelter overnight until he was found. His relieved relatives were reportedly overcome with emotion upon hearing the news of his safe recovery.
