A brush fire fueled by strong winds broke out today in Pacific Palisades. The fire has affected some trees and vegetation at the Getty Villa, but fortunately, no structures have been harmed. Both the staff and the museum’s collection remain safe.

The Getty Villa, a museum dedicated to Ancient Greek, Roman, and Etruscan artifacts, is located in Pacific Palisades, California. It houses a collection exploring ancient life, culture, religion, and warfare themes. The Villa is a reconstruction of a traditional ancient Roman villa, complete with a reconstructed theatre.

For safety reasons, the Getty Villa is closed to the public and non-emergency staff due to the ongoing fire.
