The 2025 Greek Community Cup kicks off this Friday, 10 January, at Warner Reserve in South Springvale, celebrating the rich contribution of the Greek community to football in Victoria. The tournament features local clubs, including South Melbourne, Heidelberg United, Oakleigh Cannons, and Bentleigh Greens, with the opening round promising exciting matchups. The Cup is more than just a football competition; it's a celebration of culture, community, and connection through the beautiful game.
The tournament celebrates the significant contribution of the Greek community to football in Victoria, featuring a collection of prestigious clubs with storied histories in the state’s football scene. These include South Melbourne, Heidelberg United, Oakleigh Cannons, Bentleigh Greens, Kingston City, Malvern City, Box Hill United, Bentleigh United Cobras, Keon Park, East Kew, and the host club, South Springvale Aris.
The first round on Friday night promises to deliver thrilling football action, with the opening fixture seeing Keon Park FC take on NPL powerhouse Bentleigh Greens. This will be followed by a much-anticipated clash between Cup first-timers Port Melbourne Sharks and NPL rivals Heidelberg United.
All games will be held at the Ross and Warner Reserve, home to South Springvale Aris FC, in South Springvale. Fans are encouraged to attend and support their local teams in what is shaping up to be a festival of football.
