A group of bipartisan US Representatives have introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives condemning Turkey's illegal occupation of Cyprus and calling on President Donald Trump to make the resolution of the longstanding Cyprus issue a top foreign policy priority.
The resolution, submitted by Representatives Nicole Maliotakis, Gus Bilirakis, Chris Pappas, and Dina Titus, demands the immediate withdrawal of Turkish military forces from Cyprus and the reunification of the island under a bizonal, bicommunal federation, in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
