Nikos Androulakis, leader of the main opposition party PASOK-Movement for Change, firmly ruled out the possibility of entering a coalition government with New Democracy (ND) in a radio interview with SKAI on Monday.

Androulakis made it clear that he would not contribute to such a scenario, stating that there are three viable options for Greece’s future government: a PASOK or New Democracy-led parliamentary majority government, a PASOK government with support from central-left parties, or a New Democracy government supported by smaller right-wing parties.

When asked about the upcoming Presidential elections, Androulakis explained that he would announce his party’s stance only after the Prime Minister presents his official proposal. He emphasised that PASOK’s position is that the President of the Hellenic Republic should represent the progressive space. He also rejected SYRIZA's suggestion for a unified presidential candidate from the progressive opposition parties, arguing that such a move would only benefit New Democracy and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The comments highlight PASOK’s ongoing commitment to maintaining its independence and positioning itself as a progressive alternative to the current government, while distancing itself from potential alliances with New Democracy.
