Pakistan sent its fleet to the Eastern Mediterranean to participate in a major naval exercise with Turkey, which explicitly aims to dominate Greece’s maritime area and the Greek islands of the Eastern Aegean.
Pakistan and Turkey are very close and have proven it in practice many times, which in turn brings Greece and India even closer.
The Power Games explains this scenario as a “godsend” for Greece since the country has “suddenly gained a powerful ally, which can develop—if all goes well—into a strong economic partner.”

India has the highest growth rate in the world (even above China), and at some point, it may even compete economically directly with the US. Therefore, Greece’s growing relationship with India will prove beneficial in many ways.
“For those who do not know (and therefore may not have understood all of the above), India and Pakistan are divided by deadly hatred. Therefore, since Pakistan is an ally of Turkey, India cannot but be an ally of Greece,” The Power Games explained.
Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Yamama completed a visit to the Turkish ports of Gölcük and Aksas to participate in the naval exercise “Mavi Vatan” (Blue Homeland), which is also the name of Turkey’s irredentist project to occupy Greece’s East Aegean islands.

The Blue Homeland ideology is part of Ankara’s neo-Ottoman imperial project against Greece, an endeavour that Pakistan evidently supports.
As early as 2019, incidents were recorded where Turkish planes flown by Pakistani pilots violated Greece’s air space. The Turkish Air Force was purged following the failed coup against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in 2016, and Pakistani pilots were employed to fill the shortages until a new generation of Turkish pilots could be trained.
In this way, Pakistan has maintained a hostile posture towards Greece for the sake of their Turkish allies, which in turn has only deepened Greek-Indian ties, particularly in the military field.
General Dimitrios Choupis, the head of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (GEETHA), made an official visit to India in April 2024 at the invitation of his counterpart, General Anil Chauhan, and signed the Greece-India military cooperation program for the first time. It includes a number of activities that will be carried out in both countries and are expected to strengthen military cooperation and excellent relations between them.
