Greece’s Ambassador to the US Meets with Newly Elected Greek-American Congress Members

Greece’s Ambassador to the US, Ekaterini Nassika, recently met with newly elected Greek-American members of Congress, Congresswoman Maggie Tamposi Goodlander and Congressman Mike Haridopoulos. During the meetings, Ambassador Nassika congratulated the lawmakers on their elections and highlighted the significance of their roles in strengthening the bond between Greece and the United States.

Greece’s Ambassador to the United States, Ekaterini Nassika, recently held meetings with the two newly elected Greek-American members of Congress, Congresswoman Maggie Tamposi Goodlander and Congressman Mike Haridopoulos.

Shortly after taking office, both lawmakers welcomed Ambassador Nassika to their offices on Capitol Hill. The Ambassador extended her congratulations, praising their accomplishments and emphasizing the importance of their roles in strengthening ties between Greece and the United States.

Maggie Tamposi Goodlander, a Democrat representing New Hampshire, is a lawyer with a background as a former White House aide to President Joe Biden. Her family roots trace back to Avdella in Grevena, Western Macedonia. Notably, she is married to Jake Sullivan, President Biden’s national security adviser.

Meanwhile, Representative Mike Haridopoulos represents Florida’s 8th District. His father, originally from Athens, served as an FBI agent in the United States, underscoring the family’s longstanding connection to both Greece and the United States.

These meetings underscore the growing influence of the Greek-American community in shaping the relationship between the two nations, marking an exciting chapter for Greek diplomacy and the political landscape in the United States.
