PM expresses sorrow over deadly Turkey ski resort fire

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has expressed his heartfelt condolences following a tragic fire at a popular ski resort in northwestern Turkey on Tuesday, which resulted in the loss of at least 66 lives.

In a statement shared on X, the Greek leader conveyed his deep sorrow, saying, "I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives at the Bolu ski resort. My thoughts are with the victims' families during this incredibly difficult time." Mitsotakis also extended his well wishes to those injured, adding, "I wish a swift recovery to the injured."

The fire broke out at the ski resort located in the Bolu province, a popular destination for both local and international visitors. According to Turkey’s Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, at least 51 individuals were injured in the disaster.

The Greek Prime Minister's statement reflects the strong ties and solidarity between Greece and Turkey, particularly during shared grief and tragedy.
