This initiative, known as the "Blue Homeland Modernisation," is expected to significantly enhance the Turkish Armed Forces' (TSK) "Power Transfer Capability."
Turkey has expanded its missile range to 800 kilometres (497 miles), with plans to develop missiles capable of reaching up to 2,000 kilometres.
As reported by Daily Sabah on Wednesday, this move is seen as a statement to Greece and the international community. The publication highlights that Turkey and Greece have maintained a military rivalry since World War I, marking ongoing tensions. In response to this rivalry, both nations have sought foreign military assets. Still, the integration of domestically produced defence systems into the TSK over the past decade has reduced the significance of this rivalry. The TSK's arsenal currently includes missiles with an 800-kilometre range, capable of targeting any part of Greece. As a result, Turkey's military posture is shifting, as Greece is no longer seen as the primary threat, enabling Turkey to extend its influence beyond its regional adversaries.
