According to the statement, the couple plans to marry in Athens, with further details to be shared at a later date.
Andreas Megos, a family biographer and close associate, confirmed the news, stating: “Prince Nikolaos and Mrs. Chrysi Vardinoyannis will be joined in holy matrimony in Athens. Specific details, including the wedding date, will be announced in due course.”
While the press office has not confirmed the exact date, unverified reports suggest the wedding may take place on February 7.
Chrysi Vardinoyannis has frequently attended key events alongside Nikolaos de Grece, including a private luncheon earlier this year to commemorate two years since the passing of King Constantine. The event, held at a restaurant in Kifissia following a trisagion at Tatoi, was attended by close family and friends.
Additionally, Vardinoyannis was seen at the wedding of Nikolaos’ sister, Theodora, held in Athens last year, further cementing her connection to the royal family.
This engagement marks a new chapter for both individuals. Chrysi Vardinoyannis, a member of a well-known Greek family, was previously married to singer Nino, with whom she has two children. She also had a long-term relationship with actor and director Konstantinos Markoulakis.
Nikolaos de Grece was previously married to Tatiana Blatnik. The couple announced their separation last year after 14 years of marriage. Despite the split, Blatnik has maintained cordial ties with the royal family and was recently seen accompanying former Queen Anna Maria at a public event.
The wedding, set to take place in Athens, is expected to draw significant attention due to the prominence of the couple and their families. The engagement has sparked widespread interest, and more details about the ceremony will be awaited in the coming weeks.
