In a recent interview on Action24, Greek Minister Makis Voridis extended an invitation to former U.S. President Donald Trump, suggesting he visit Greece to gain insights into the country’s approach to tackling illegal immigration. Voridis highlighted Greece's efforts in implementing robust immigration control measures, including the construction of physical barriers and the enactment of active deterrence strategies.

Voridis stated, "We have built the fence, implemented active deterrence, and developed policies for bilateral pushbacks to the extent possible." He emphasized that Greece could serve as a case study for technically applying such measures, which could be of interest to Trump given his immigration policies during his presidency.

In a lighter tone, there was a remark that at least Voridis refrained from inviting Trump to admire Greece’s railway network, hinting at ongoing issues within that sector.

The invitation reflects ongoing discussions about immigration policies in Europe and globally, as nations grapple with finding effective solutions to manage migration flows.
