Maria Menounos: Visited Her Mother's Grave with Her Daughter – "It Hurts When You Need Her and She's Not There"

In a post on her Instagram profile on Saturday, January 25, the Greek-American TV host shared a photo of her 1.5-year-old daughter, Athena, in front of her late mother's grave while playing the song "God Will Work It Out." Her mother, Stavroula (or Litsa), who was born in Greece and later immigrated to the U.S., where she met and married Menounos’ father, passed away in 2021 at the age of 66 after battling brain cancer.

In the caption of her post, Menounos wrote: "It hurts when you need your mom and she’s not there. It hurts when Athena is growing up and changing, and she’s not here. This song always helps me get through it all. God works it out. Always."
