Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is set to visit Paris on February 10-11, 2025, as the French capital becomes the center of global discussions on Artificial Intelligence during the highly anticipated AI Action Summit.

The event will gather heads of state and government, international organisations, businesses, leading academics, researchers, non-governmental organisations, and artists, making it a milestone for the global AI community.

The summit comes at a pivotal moment in the ongoing race for AI dominance between the United States and China. Chinese start-up DeepSeek has recently unveiled two cutting-edge AI models it claims surpass American technologies, adding urgency to international efforts to shape a more sustainable, inclusive, and globally governed AI future.

Co-chaired by India, the Paris summit builds on the achievements of the Bletchley Park Summit in November 2023 and the Seoul Summit in May 2024. It will involve the expertise of around 30 countries and international organisations, aiming to create a unified framework for AI development and regulation.

The event will coincide with the Artificial Intelligence Week of Action, providing a platform to showcase AI ecosystems and initiatives from across the globe. Participants will work towards three key objectives:

  • Ensuring access to secure and reliable AI technologies for a wide range of users.
  • Developing AI solutions that are environmentally sustainable.
  • Establishing inclusive and effective global AI governance.

The summit’s significance extends beyond technology, representing a collective effort to address the ethical, social, and environmental challenges posed by AI. It is an opportunity for Greece, under the leadership of Prime Minister Mitsotakis, to contribute to the global dialogue on how AI can drive progress while prioritising public interest.

Paris will undoubtedly serve as a hub of innovation and collaboration during these two days, marking an important step toward shaping the future of artificial intelligence.
