On January 30, 2025, a 34-year-old Egyptian man was sentenced to four years in prison for his role as a serial flasher in Peristeri, a neighborhood in western Athens. Arrested on Sunday, the man was convicted of indecent exposure and assault against law enforcement officers, leading to his immediate imprisonment as his sentence was not suspended.
During the trial, the defendant admitted to his actions and requested to be placed in a psychiatric facility, a plea that was ultimately rejected by the court. Expressing remorse, he sought forgiveness from his victims, saying, “I would like the women to forgive me because I have a daughter, and I would not like for someone to do the same to her.”
One of the women he harassed recounted her terrifying experience, stating, “I felt someone following me. He was masturbating and using vulgar language. I told him I would call the police, and he left.”
