Thessaloniki Bar Manager Arrested After Two Minors Hospitalised for Alcohol Poisoning

Two 16-year-old girls were hospitalised in the early hours of Sunday due to acute alcohol intoxication after consuming excessive amounts of alcohol at a bar in central Thessaloniki, according to local police reports.

Authorities arrested the bar’s 51-year-old manager for allowing the minors to consume alcohol on the premises. The arrest was carried out by officers from the city’s Rapid Action Directorate.

The detained manager has been charged by the White Tower Crime Investigation Department and will be brought before the prosecutor. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident, reinforcing the crackdown on establishments that violate alcohol regulations concerning minors.
