Daud Yordan has been forced to pull out of this Saturday’s highly anticipated main event at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena due to medical reasons, just days before the blockbuster fight was set to stream live worldwide on DAZN. The Indonesian fighter’s withdrawal came after a hospital visit in his home country, paving the way for an explosive all-Australian showdown between ‘Ferocious’ George Kambosos Jr and rising knockout star Jake Wyllie.

Stepping up on less than a week’s notice, the 24-year-old Queenslander Wyllie (16-1-0, 15 KOs) brings a devastating record into the ring, with 15 of his 16 victories ending in knockouts. Promoted by No Limits Boxing, the Australian Super-Lightweight Champion now has the chance to derail Kambosos Jr’s homecoming at the Riyadh Season-sponsored event in front of a global audience.

“I’d already bought tickets to watch the fight, and now I’m headlining it—this is unreal,” Wyllie said. “This is my shot, and I’m grabbing it with everything I’ve got. George is a top-level fighter, but I’m young, hungry, and ready to bring the heat. Sydney’s in for a wild night—Jake ‘The Machine’ Wyllie is here to deliver.”

For Kambosos Jr (21-3-0, 10 KOs), the former Undisputed Lightweight World Champion, the goal remains unchanged: a statement win in his first fight at 140 pounds to set up a potential clash with IBF titleholder Richardson Hitchins. “I’ve been grinding for three months straight—I’m ready for anyone,” Kambosos Jr said. “It’s a shame Daud had to drop out five days before the fight, but the Ferocious show rolls on. Jake Wyllie’s a solid kid, 16-1 with 15 KOs, and he’s earned this chance. I’m giving him his ‘Rocky’ moment—but this isn’t Hollywood. There’s no fairy-tale ending here, just a Ferocious victory.”

The stacked card also features two massive women’s World Title bouts, presented by Matchroom Boxing, DiBella Entertainment, Ferocious Promotions, Tasman Fighters, and Goldstar. Undefeated WBC World Featherweight champ Skye Nicolson (12-0, 1 KO) faces mandatory challenger Tiara Brown (18-0, 11 KOs) in her pursuit of undisputed glory, while WBA World Bantamweight titleholder Cherneka Johnson (16-2-0, 6 KOs) defends her belt in a heated rematch against Nina Hughes (6-1-0, 2 KOs) following their controversial first encounter last May. Plus, unbeaten heavyweight prospect Teremoana Jr (6-0, 6 KOs) looks to keep his knockout streak alive against James ‘The Beast’ Singh (12-5-0, 11 KOs).

“This is already the biggest card in Australia this year, and it’s just leveled up,” said Matchroom Sport chairman Eddie Hearn. “We wish Daud Yordan a quick recovery, but now Jake Wyllie has a golden opportunity to shake up the boxing world. He’s a knockout machine with serious momentum—don’t blink this Saturday in Sydney.”

Limited tickets for the Qudos Bank Arena spectacle are still available at premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=KAMBOSOS25.
