GNTO Secretary General Andreas Fiorentinos met on Thursday with JET2 representatives Janice Mather and Jacob Bramley to discuss current tourism trends and long-term collaboration. The talks highlighted the shared commitment to promoting sustainable tourism practices and diversifying Greece’s tourism offering for British travellers.

A key development from the meeting was the announcement that Samos will be added to JET2’s Greek destination portfolio in 2026. The island will be served by direct flights from Manchester and London Stansted between May and October, expanding access to one of Greece’s lesser-known gems.

The discussions also focused on long-term strategic planning, with both sides emphasizing the need to extend the tourist season and direct travel flows toward emerging or underdeveloped regions of Greece. Joint promotional campaigns will aim to spotlight hidden destinations and foster year-round tourism aligned with GNTO’s sustainable development goals.

Additionally, both parties explored ways to further enhance their partnership, including the creation of new tourism products for the summer season and specialised training for JET2’s affiliate network to better showcase Greece’s diverse offerings.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to draft a comprehensive roadmap for a balanced and responsible expansion of JET2’s operations in Greece.
