On Good Friday, the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, visited the “5” Surveillance Outpost in Nea Vyssa, Evros.
Mr. Dendias spoke with the personnel and conscripts serving there.
In a statement, Mr. Dendias said, “From the borders of our Homeland, at the ‘5’ Surveillance Outpost in Evros, one can see things from a different perspective. You feel pride for the soldiers, non-commissioned officers, officers, and personnel of our Armed Forces who, during these days, stand guard here, ensuring that Greeks can celebrate Easter safely. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart and assure them of the trust and love that Greek society has for them.”

“I had the opportunity to thank them for their service to the homeland and wish them a ‘Blessed Resurrection’ alongside the Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, General D. Houpis, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General D. Kostidis, the Commander of the 1st Army, Lieutenant General S. Papastathopoulos, and the Commander of the 4th Army Corps, Lieutenant General P. Kavvidopoulos,” Mr. Dendias noted in a post.
Traveling to Panagia Oinousses
Tomorrow, Holy Saturday, April 19, Mr. Dendias will travel to the island of Panagia in the Oinousses complex, where he will visit the surveillance outpost.
In the afternoon, Mr. Dendias will attend the Resurrection service, which will be officiated at the outpost by His Eminence, Metropolitan Markos of Chios, Psara, and Oinousses.
