As Greeks prepare to return from their Easter holidays, the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) forecasts a shift in weather starting Monday, April 21.
Holidaymakers across Greece should brace for cloudy conditions, localised rain, and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in central and northern mainland regions.
On Easter Monday, expect partly cloudy skies with denser clouds at times. From midday, central and northern mainland areas, including Macedonia, Epirus, and Thessaly, will see showers and isolated storms, especially in mountainous zones. Visibility may be limited in the mornings and evenings, particularly in central and northern regions. Winds will be variable, reaching 3 to 4 Beaufort, with eastern winds strengthening to 5 Beaufort in southern seas. Temperatures will remain steady, hitting 23-26°C on the mainland and 21-23°C on the islands.

Showers and storms are expected in the Ionian Islands, Peloponnese, western Crete, and later in Sterea, Epirus, Cyclades, Dodecanese, and northeastern Aegean islands. African dust may affect southern regions, and winds will shift to easterly-northeasterly at 3-6 Beaufort. Temperatures will hold at 22-25°C on the mainland and 21-23°C on the islands.
By Wednesday, April 23, Thrace and the Aegean will enjoy mostly clear skies, while the rest of Greece sees localised showers and storms, particularly in Epirus, western Macedonia, and western Sterea. Winds will turn westerly-northwesterly, and temperatures will remain stable.
Thursday, April 24, will bring more clouds and widespread showers and storms, especially in the morning across mainland and island regions, with improvement by afternoon. Winds will strengthen to 4-6 Beaufort, and temperatures will dip slightly in the Ionian and mainland areas.
