Forest fires have been raging in Greece for a week now, and the worst is on the island of Evia, where the fire has spread to about 20,000 hectares, burning houses as well, and satellite images have shown the level of destruction.
Fire on Evia is still not under control firefighters and emergency services across the country continue to vigorously fight the fires.
According to estimates by local authorities in Mani in the Peloponnese, forest fires destroyed about 70 percent of the region.
