A 26-year-old Greek man in Palairo in the municipality of Akti in Vonitsa was arrested following an allegation of rape made by a 24-year-old British tourist.
According to a police announcement, a local man was arrested at noon on Saturday, in the area of the Municipality of Akti, Vonitsa, against whom a criminal case was filed for rape.
“In particular, according to a complaint by a foreign woman, the accused forced her into sexual intercourse the day before yesterday morning, by exercising physical violence”, states the Police press release, adding that the arrested person will be taken to the District Attorney of Lefkada.
In today’s report on the incident, the British Sun newspaper reports that the victim is 24 years old. The girl, who was in Vonitsa on vacation, complained that the attacker forced her into sexual acts near a bar in Palairo.
According to the British woman, the sexual assault took place on Friday and the man used violence to force her to submit to his desires.
