Hürriyet: "Tsipras included Turkish MPs in SYRIZA"

SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras

Under the title: "Scandal in Greece, Threat to the 'Turkish' minority: If you don't vote for us you won't have services", the pro-Turkish government Hürriyet newspaper attacks New Democracy and Kyriakos Mitsotakis after the complaints about the role of the Turkish consulate in Komotini in the last Greek elections.

"The leader of the ND targeted the 'Turkish' MPs. Mitsotakis' sister, and former Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis, threatened during her visit to Western Thrace that if the ND is not passed, aid to the region's residents will be cut off."

"The press representative of the ND, Akis Skertsos, also issued threats," provocatively claimed the publication, which speaks of "Turkish" parliamentarians and a "Turkish" minority in Thrace instead of Greek Muslims.

"After the threats, the leader of SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, who included 'Turkish' MPs in the party's list, met with interim Prime Minister Ioannis Sharma, pointing out the rhetoric of the ND can lead to national risks," Hürriyet concluded.

The newspaper also hosts a statement by the president of the so-called "Turkish" Union of Xanthi, Ozan Ahmetoğlu, who described the alleged "threats" of the N.D. as "unacceptable ".
