BREAKING: ISIS gunman kills at least two people in Brussels

An ISIS gunman has killed at least two people in Brussels, Belgium according to news reports.

In a video, the suspect claims responsibility for the Brussels shooting and indicates that he belongs to the Islamic State and claims to have committed this act to “avenge the Muslims”

“Islamic salute to Allah Akbar. I appeal to Abdesalem Al Guilani and I am a fighter for Allah. I’m from the Islamic State. We love those who love us and we hate those who hate us. We live by our religion and die by our religion. Al Hamdulah. Your brother was born in the name of Muslims. So far I have killed 3 Swedes Al Hamdoulelah. Those to whom I have written a check choose to forgive me. And I will forgive myself to the whole world. Salam Alaykoum.” said the shooter in a video.

Local media said the victims were believed to be Swedish.

Sweden’s national football team are playing Belgium in a Euro 2024 qualifier, although it is unclear whether the victims were in the city for the match.

The attack reportedly happened at 19:00 local time (17:00 GMT; 18:00 BST) near the Boulevard d’Ypres in central Brussels.
