Sydney’s beloved chef Helen Demetriou has died after a long battle with aggressive cancer.

Sydney’s beloved chef Helen Demetriou has died after a long battle with aggressive cancer.

According to an Instagram post, Mrs. Demetriou died on Friday, October 27, at the age of 57.

Ms Demetriou’s family paid tribute to her beloved husband, mother and sister and said they were “overwhelmed”.

“Her absence leaves an irreparable void in our lives,” the family wrote on Instagram. “While the world seems unimaginable without him, we pledge to preserve his legacy as a united family.”

Tributes have since been pouring in for the Greek Cypriot Australian chef, whose family and friends said his death was a huge loss to the community.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, November 2, at 12:30 p.m. at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, Rose Bay.
