Georgia Despollari Shines Again

Georgia Despollari made it two out of two, after improving her personal record in today’s (23/1) competition in Tampere, following the match in Dortmund.

The rising champion of medium distances finished second in the 800m with a time of 2:05.55, improving her previous time of 2:05.81 from Saturday.

Although the “bronze” champion of U23 Europe fell behind in the first half of the race, she started to accelerate after 500m and began to overtake her opponents in the last 200m, showing that she has plenty of strength. Despollari will continue her races in the Netherlands (27/1), where she will have the opportunity to chase the barrier of 2:05. The winner in the 800m was Vera Matila (Finland) with a time of 2:05.16.

Artemis Anastasiou also opened the season in Tampere in the 60 meters. The experienced athlete finished eighth in the final of the 60m, while she recorded 7.59 in the qualifying round. Anastasiou will have her next race in Apeldoorn next Saturday (27/1).

Second place for Andrikopoulos in Aarhus

Nikos Andrikopoulos had his first race in 2024 in Aarhus, Netherlands. The athlete of Dimitris Vasilikos placed second with a jump of 15.77m in the one and only jump of the match. The athlete will have his next race on February 2nd in Miramas.
