The Hellenic Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) announced on Friday the first Greek death this winter from influenza type A.
According to (KEELPNO) the victim was a 49-year-old patient that belonged to a vulnerable group and had not been vaccinated against the visit and added that in the last week, only a few patients with influenza visited a doctor in the last week.
Scientists can't make predictions about the extent of influenza this winter, however, they pointed out that incidents normally increase gradually before Christmas, reach a peak at the end of January and in February and then start to subside in March.
