Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou and Deputy Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Christos Triantopoulos announced the launch of “Digispect,” a new electronic application for inspecting and recording buildings damaged by natural disasters.
The announcement was made during a meeting at the digital governance ministry on Wednesday.
“Digispect” aims to streamline the inspection process for civil engineers, ensuring faster, safer, and more transparent assessments without unnecessary bureaucracy. The app allows authorised users to upload documents and photos directly from mobile devices such as tablets. Once inspections are completed, building occupants or owners will receive digital copies of the necessary documents via email or text message.
The application can function offline, temporarily storing data until the device reconnects to the internet. Additionally, it captures useful information like geographical location, aiding in cross-checking and verification processes.
