A very high fire risk, classified as category 4, is predicted for tomorrow in several regions of Greece, including Attica, parts of the Peloponnese, Central Greece, Thessaly, and Crete.
According to the Fire Risk Forecast Map released by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection, the areas at heightened risk include:
- Attica Region, including the island of Kythera
- Peloponnese Region, specifically Corinth, Argolida, Laconia, and Arcadia
- Western Greece Region, notably Achaia
- Sterea Ellada Region, including Boeotia, Fthiotida, and Evia
- Thessaly Region, particularly Magnesia
- Crete Region, especially Chania
The General Secretariat has alerted relevant government departments, regional authorities, and municipalities to increase their preparedness levels in anticipation of potential fire incidents. This measure aims to ensure a prompt response to any emergencies that may arise due to the elevated fire risk.
