Air Haifa, northern Israel's first airline, has announced the launch of direct flights between Haifa International Airport and Athens, Greece. One-way tickets start at $149.
The new route will operate five times a week and is part of the airline’s expansion of its international destinations.
In addition to this new route, Air Haifa currently offers two flights to Eilat and three to Larnaca. The Haifa to Athens flights will depart at 09:00 on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and arrive in Athens at 11:55. Return flights will depart Athens at 12:55 and land in Haifa at 15:45.
All flights will be operated by the airline’s fleet of three new ATR 72-600 aircraft, the youngest in Israel.
A Key Milestone
Gonen Usishkin, Co-founder and CEO of Air Haifa called the Athens route "a significant step" in the airline’s plan to expand its international services. He also emphasized how the new flights strengthen Haifa Airport’s role as an international hub for the Mediterranean region.
After adding Eilat and Larnaca to its network, Usishkin expressed pride in offering northern residents another popular destination. It plans to expand further in the coming months.
