Greek investment opportunities took centre stage at a high-profile business forum in Istanbul, jointly organised by Turkey’s Economy and Trade Association (ETD) and Greece’s national trade and investment agency, Enterprise Greece.
The event, held at Greece’s General Consulate in Istanbul on Thursday, drew strong interest from Turkish business leaders eager to explore new ventures in Greece.
Under the theme “Exploring New Business Ventures in Greece,” the event took place at the packed Sismanoglio Hall, where key sectors such as tourism, real estate, supply chains, the circular economy, technology, and innovation were highlighted as areas of mutual interest.
Greek Consul General in Istanbul, Ambassador Konstantinos Koutras, addressed Greek and Turkish entrepreneurs, emphasising the Greek government’s successful economic reforms that have strengthened Greece’s position as an attractive investment destination. He noted that bilateral economic cooperation between Greece and Turkey is already yielding positive results, particularly in the investment sector. Additionally, he highlighted the growing tourism ties between the two nations, citing the recent 10-day visa program for Turkish visitors to Greek islands as a key development in fostering closer economic and cultural exchanges.
In a moment of solemn remembrance, Ambassador Koutras called for a minute of silence to honor the victims of the devastating Kahramanmaraş earthquakes that struck Turkey two years ago, claiming tens of thousands of lives.
Following keynote presentations by Greek officials and industry leaders, Greek agencies held private B2B meetings with Turkish companies, providing in-depth information and facilitating discussions on potential collaborations.
The event reaffirmed the strong business ties between Greece and Turkey, with both sides expressing optimism about deepening economic partnerships in the years ahead.
