Greece Coast Guard Rescues 158 Migrants South of Gavdos

GAVDOS, Greece – On May 6, 2025, the Greek Coast Guard rescued 158 undocumented migrants in the sea south of Gavdos, a small island off Crete’s coast.

The migrants, traveling in three boats, were safely retrieved in an operation involving Coast Guard vessels, a Frontex drone, and assistance from two foreign-flagged ships nearby. All rescued individuals were transported to the port of Gavdos.
