Nicola Gobbo, known as Lawyer X, testified in the Victorian Supreme Court that she was unaware of Tony Mokbel’s plan to flee during his 2006 drug trial. Gobbo, who was both Mokbel’s lawyer and a police informer, claimed he seemed normal when he left court on bail but later absconded to Greece. Now suing the State of Victoria for damages, Gobbo expressed regret over her compliance with police, citing increasing paranoia and stress during her time as an informer.
